Visitors to Cairns can also go kayaking from Palm Cove, north of Cairns. Sea kayaking is a great way to explore the region from a new perspective meeting up with dolphins, turtles and other marine life.

Palm Cove Watersports also offer a Sunrise Tour that leaves around 6am as you paddle into the sun rising over Double Island. Cairns Kayaking is mainly dedicated to white-water kayaking and can give visitors heaps of information on the best rivers, times and hot spots.

  

Visitors can try sea kayaking at Cape Tribulation or a more sedate version at Lake Tinaroo on the Atherton Tableland.

Make sure you take a hat and good sunscreen and you will need a change of clothes.
