Visitors can try their hand at Cairns Cable Ski, only 15 minutes north of Cairns at Smithfield.
This is a great way to learn and everyone from beginners to those who can do the fancy jumps can be found here. There are even tube rides for the kids.
For a whole day of fun, head to the Atherton Tableland for an authentic water skiing experience on Lake Tinaroo.
The freshwater lake is a great place for camping as well and there are heaps of activities for the kids.
Bring your swimming costume, but wetsuits are available if you need them and don’t forget the waterproof sunscreen. There are age restrictions with some activities.
Cairns water-skiing day trips to the Atherton Tableland usually includes lunch but take snacks and bottled water.
