Cairns museums explain the history of the region and Cairns is home to numerous quality art galleries with styles from contemporary and indigenous works to portraits, landscapes and photography.


Interesting attractions like The Royal Australian Flying Doctor centre, the historical Kuranda Scenic Railway, the Mossman Mill, north of Port Douglas, or the Chillagoe Hub are also interesting places to visit with a unique look at the Cairns region.
